Jennifer Humblet took over as owner/manager in 1991 to bring sunshine into her customers lives through smart tanning. The Tannery was one of Eau Claire's first tanning salons and today it's one of the largest.
Customer service has always been Jennifer's first priority, and she stresses this extensively with her staff. “You can have the best equipment, but if you don't keep a clean salon with frequently changed lamps and have great customer service, the clients will go elsewhere,” says Jennifer. "My staff is taught about smart tanning, skin typing, and tanning lotions."
To stay on the edge of style, our stylists attend various classes and hair shows. Paul Mitchell color specialists teach in-house classes to keep our stylists up-to-date on today's trends. We are one of the only salons in Eau Claire to offer all-natural extensions and dreadlocks.

1991: Jennifer Humblet purchased The Tannery and offered tanning only.
2001: The Tannery moved across the street to its current location which offered more space for expansion.
2002: Remodeled and expanded services to include a full-service hair salon.
2003: Added manicures and pedicures
2004: Two more very talented stylists joined the salon.
2005: Remodeled again to add a spa room for facials and waxing services. We are one of the only salons in Eau Claire to offer full Brazilian waxes.
2008: Two additional stylists joined the Hairbenders, making a total of five. Also, a dry, infrared sauna was added.
